Admission
Affordability

We are committed to providing equitable access to education, and we work to ensure that all qualified students—no matter their socioeconomic background—thrive on our campus.
Salem is ranked #2 in the nation for advancing students’ social mobility (US News and World Report 2023), #2 in the nation for economic diversity (New York Times 2023) and #4 in the nation among all liberal arts colleges for graduation rate performance (Washington Monthly 2023).
We practice need-blind admission, which means we admit students based on their academic and personal accomplishments and we do not consider their financial circumstances during the admission process.
Salem is dedicated to admitting qualified students and working with individual families to meet financial needs. Through need-based grants, low-interest loans, work-study programs, merit-based scholarships, and payment plans, we make every effort to meet financial concerns and tailor a financial aid package to suit each individual.
